Designed by award winning producer Tom Dobrzanski, Vertical Studios is a modern studio space built with incredible attention to detail. Please have a look around, and feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
The comfortable control room is built around a custom console that holds a selection of the most desirable analog equipment, and the digital control of an Avid S1 Console.
Near-field monitoring is provided by a pair of world-class ATC SCM25A speakers. Mounted in the soffits in the front wall are powerful Dynaudio BM15a speakers as a second reference.
There are two couches and a coffee table at the back of the room, making the control room an incredibly comfortable place to create, even for larger groups.
The inside of the control room is treated with extensive bass trapping, absorption, diffusion, and angled walls to create an incredibly accurate listening environment.
The beautiful mid-range diffusion built into the ceiling contributes helps create a space where you can trust what you are hearing whether you are up at the desk, or sitting back on the couches.
A dedicated air conditioning unit feeds the control room, giving you independent control of the working temperature. In response to COVID-19, we have also added a portable IQAir HyperHEPA filter to our control room to help make recording sessions as safe as possible.
The studio features three more isolated rooms for tracking: a Live Room, Vocal Booth, and an Amp Room.
The Live Room is the main tracking room at Vertical. It has a custom designed ceiling cloud made of high frequency and low frequency absorption, and additional wall treatment to make it a controlled and comfortable space to record in.
The Vocal Booth looks into the Live Room and is a great place to isolate vocalists or another instrumentalist if things are already being recorded in the larger Live Room.
The Amp Room is an ideal place to isolate guitar or bass amplifiers while tracking with a live band. The musician can be located in any of the other recording spaces or control room with their amplifier isolated away.
Headphones are controlled with a Furman headphone system. This allows each musician to quickly dial in a personalized headphone mix so that they hear exactly what they need to perform their best. Each musicians gets a pair of high quality Audio-Technica M50x headphones, because we know as musicians hearing a high quality mix bring out the best performances.
Included with every studio rental are our keyboards (Wurlitzer 200a, Arturia Keylab 88), tube guitar amps (Fender Deluxe Reverb, Voc AC15), bass guitar (Ibanez 4-String), and drum kit (Yamaha Drums).
There is also an assortment of vintage instruments available to rent at a cost through our larger studio Monarch Studios. These include vintage guitars, basses, cymbals and drums.
