Producer / Senior Engineer
Alex Penney has always been surrounded by music. He played piano growing up, with a taste influenced by a father who loved prog-rock and a sister who studied jazz. This developed into a love for hip-hop and electronic music and sounds from around the world.
During university he became interested in DJing and production and started buying records and making beats. This eventually led to a move to Vancouver BC to pursue a career in making sound and he has been working as a Producer/Engineer/DJ ever since.
Alex has worked with artists such as Dani LeRose (Jade the Moon), Jay Rock (Top Dawg Entertainment), and Jarrett Martineau (CBC Reclaimed / RPM Records).
Eva Lucia is a Vancouver-based Producer, Recording and Mix Engineer. She has been a guitarist and songwriter for 10 years, and fell in love with music production and audio engineering while studying at the SAE Institute and completing a year-long internship at Monarch Studios . Since graduating, she has been immersed in studio life; always learning from the talented musicians and engineers she meets along the way.
Eva loves music across all genres but would say her skills stand out in alternative folk, folk pop, indie pop/rock, dreampop, and punk. She stays active in the Vancouver music scene, frequently playing shows and releasing music with her indie-rock band Cat Larceny.
Eva loves recording all instruments, and has found the seemingly endless creative recording techniques for drums especially enticing. Her favourite projects to work on are those with up and coming artists who share the same passion for music as she does.
Alec Taylor is an engineer, producer, and musician who graduated from SAE Institute and fell in love with the art of recording. The studio has quickly become a second home to him, and since then Alec has spent his time producing records for his own band, Cat Larceny, and the up-and-coming group Felisha and the Jazz Rejects.
Growing up in a household full of classic rock and alternative 90s music, he started playing guitar at age 7, and has since learned multiple instruments and a love for all genres.
Alec loves working with bands, rappers, and singer/songwriters, while experimenting with different sound effects and synthesizers. This all comes together in the studio to create a fun and memorable experience for everyone involved.
